1.
The Summer 02:35
Children can be so cruel in the summer sun when they deny the fun, participation Gather round a body blue and chemical Curricular sabbatical, oh I’m not self-conscious taking off my shirt but they don’t understand I never learned The summer’s going to be a disappointment ‘cause I can’t swim
2.
If you asked me to I don’t think I could pinpoint the moment when it changed between us In retrospect, there’s common courtesy and I apologize for not carrying myself better For all we’ve been through, it’s just so painful I needed something, I had to let go When things sour When things sour When I left there were far too many things that were going on and I know I didn’t put much effort in relationships But when did you lose complete control and utter self respect? There’s so much more, still you don’t apply All the fruits you tasted, you prefer the one that gets you wasted But who am I to talk as I have my own vice and virtue? So much bitterness and a cyclical self-loathing Is there anything I can do to make it better? Maybe time apart can bring us back together When things sour When things sour

about

I just finished recording Light From A Dying Star and I began touring the west coast. My former manager suggested I do a free EP to give out at shows and festivals so I thought I'd write a song about the summer, include some demos of songs I'd been working on since LFADS, and put a few tracks from both EPs as a sampler. The Summer EP included "Favourite Hallucination", "Light From A Dying Star" and "Shame Shame Shame" in addition to 3 new songs. This is the first time The Summer EP will be released digitally and will include 3 remixes of those early demos.

about

The Enigmatic Foe Knoxville, Tennessee

With sharp lyrics, the playful pop bite of the best of the 70s and 80s, and the kind of self-deprecation usually reserved for a Woody Allen movie, Jared Colinger's lyrics run the gamut from the joy of new love to disillusionment with the old, from wanting to like yourself to being afraid of what we have in our minds.

The new music coming in 2023.
